- Joey Villar -

MANILA, Philippines - Pachanga FC and Diliman Victory Liner FC walloped their respective foes to keep their lofty perches in the second division of the United Football League at The Turf in Bonifacio Global City.

Pachanga walloped Manila All-Japan FC, 7-0, to stay unbeaten in six matches and on top of the standings with 18 points while Diliman dumped Lions Meltique Beef FC, 5-0, to post its fifth win against a draw for a second-best 16 points.

Mohanad Farah led the onslaught with a hat trick as he scored on the sixth, 28th and 51st minute while Alfredo Gonzales (ninth), Christopher Ojamire (63rd), Robert Canedo (69th) and Janrick Soriano (70th) provided the other goals to complete the rout.

Bismark Frimpong paced the Diliman booters with two goals while Andrew Gerard Santiago (42nd), Franco Nino Bambico (82nd) and Stephen Ralph Permanes (91st) scored the other three goals to help seal the one-sided triumph.

The pair of wins separated Pachanga and Diliman from the rest of the field as they now lead distant No. 3 Team Socceroo FC, which has 10 points on three wins, a draw and two losses, by eight and six points, respectively.

Pachanga and Diliman are gearing up for their much-awaited showdown on March 25 also at The Turf for a chance for promotion to the first division, joining the big guns Loyola Meralco Sparks, Stallion Gilligan’s, Global and Kaya.

Manila All-Japan FC fell to its fifth loss against a win for three points and second to the last place while Lions Meltique Beef suffered its third setback against a draw that kept it dead last with just a point to boot.
