TRS mounts first circuit session at Clark

MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing School holds its first circuit class for racing enthusiasts on Feb. 18 at the Clark International Speedway.

Limited slots are available for the first of a series of circuit classes sponsored by Castrol and Bridgestone. Enrollees must have a national license and must know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

And for those who are underage and with no license, a written consent and certification either of a parent or guardian should be submitted together with the registration form stating that the enrollee knows how to drive.

Part of the Circuit class is an introduction to racing that will provide participants a feel of what racing is all about as it focuses on the basic techniques and application. Moreover, it is an orientation on the speed, the equipment and discipline needed in racing.

It will start with a short classroom session then orientation with the equipment, familiarization of the track and practice sessions.

The basic lessons include Threshold Braking, Downshifting, Racing Line and Track Lapping under the tutelage of TRS president JP Tuason.

Registration fee is P18,000 inclusive of manuals and registration materials, safety equipment like helmets and suits, instructor’s fee, use of Ford Fiesta Race Cars, lunch and drinks, gift packs, racetrack fee and a certificate.

The best graduates will have the chance to be a part of the competitive Tuason Racing School Team that has been a proven stepping stone for budding drivers to compete in the Philippine National Touring Car Series.
