Lady Patriots arrange a deciding Game 3

-

MANILA, Philippines - The defending champion La Salle-Dasmariñas Lady Patriots relied on the double-digit outputs of three mainstays to put away the Rizal Technological University Lady Thunder, 60-54, last Tuesday in Game 2 of the 19th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) women’s basketball finals.

Diane Gelisan fired 20 points, while Alalaine de Gomas hit 19 and Marie Cruz shot 11 for the Lady Patriots, who tied their best-of-three finals series with the Lady Thunder at 1-all right at their rivals’ home-court – the RTU gymnasium in Mandaluyong.

The Lady Patriots will have a chance to retain their crown when they clash with the Lady Thunder in Game 3 at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Olivarez College gymnasium in Sucat, Parañaque.

The Lady Thunder took Game 1 with a 71-54 beating of the Lady Patriots over at the Ugnayang La Salle gymnasium inside the DLSU-Dasmariñas campus in Cavite.

La Salle-Dasma took the crown last season following a 68-56 stopping of the RTU Lady Thunder in this cagefest supported by Mikasa, Molten Balls, and ANI Agrinurture, Inc.

Meanwhile, the Olivarez College Sea Lions will meet the Philippine Merchant Marine School Mariners at 10 a.m. in Game 3 of the men’s basketball finals today.

The Sea Lions outplayed the Mariners, 85-62, in Game 2 of their best-of-three championship showdown and tied the series at 1-all.
