AKTV on IBC airs Australian Open

MANILA, Philippines - AKTV continues to give sports fans more exciting action with the Australian Open, one of the biggest tennis events this year with $2.3 million prizes staked each for the men’s and women’s champions.

AKTV’s Australian Open coverage will have local commentary by a lineup of sports anchors and commentators.

“Filipino viewers appreciate the local commentaries we provide because they now have better understanding of the game. We are also making sure that viewers get to experience the complete coverage of the Australian Open action starting from the quarterfinals, semis and until the finals,” AKTV sports manager Vitto Lazatin said.

AKTV’s Australian Open telecast schedule starts with the quarterfinals today from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (live) and 4:30-7 p.m. (live), Jan. 25 from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (live) and 9:30 p.m. to 12 mn (delayed.), Jan. 26 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. (live) and 4:30-7 p.m. (live), Jan. 27 from 9:30 p.m. to 12 mn (delayed), Jan. 28 from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (delayed), and Jan. 29 at 9:30 p.m. to 12 mn (delayed).

 AKTV on IBC 13 is the primetime sports channel in the country. AKTV was the first to air Wimbledon action on free TV last year. It also airs various sports programs like the PBA D-League, United Football League, Pacific X-Treme Combat.
