Mariners capture NCRAA volley title

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Merchant Marine School neutralized veteran frontliner Alnakran Abdillah as it stunned defending champion La Salle-Dasmarinas, 28-26, 25-17, 25-18, to capture the 19th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men’s volleyball crown yesterday.

The Mariners hung tough in the opener and outlasted the Patriots then held sway in the next two to complete the three-set victory and a sweep of their best-of-three series at the PMMS gym in Las Pinas.

The Mariners took Game 1, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Earlier, the Rizal Technological University Blue Thunder fashioned out the same score in bagging third place honors against Olivarez College, 28-26, 25-17, 25-18.
