Briones-Marzo steps up Slasher finals bid

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the World Slasher heats up today with the staging of the first of two semifinals with defending champion Rey Briones and Boy Marzo leading the way with four wins each from entries Spartans A-LDB and Spartans B-LDB, and BMMJ and BM team Rhino 671, respectively.

Atong Ang, through entries AA Ju Dreams Come Tru with James Uy, and AA AS JGT MBJ with Allan Siaco, are also both undefeated with two points.

Ormoc Gold breeder Bernie Tacoy with Ormoc Golden Warriors has both winning roosters unscathed for a ticket to today’s semis.

A total of 157 vied in the 2-cock elims in Group A last Monday followed by a 121-fight card for the Group B prelims. 

Also making it to the semis are Patrick Antonio, Sonny Lagon, Joey and Buboy delos Santos, Diky and Jimmi Lim (Winslet), Jun Mendoza, Biboy Enriquez, Mayor Jesry Palmares, Jorge Torres, Mayor Cito Alberto, Rikki Reyes and Jun Topacio.

Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, the 2012 World Slashers Cup is co-presented by Thunderbird Romoxtyl and Thunderbird Ganador Max, with Bmeg Der Ace as minor sponsor.

The Group B semis will be held tomorrow with the finals set on Jan. 21 for Group A and on Jan. 22 for Group B.
