ICTSI Jungolf Inter-school finals under way

MANILA, Philippines - Top qualifiers from the two elimination legs clash for bragging rights in the two-day grand finals of the ICTSI Jungolf Inter-school golf tournament starting today at the Player course of the the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas, Cavite.

Division winners La Salle Greenhills 1 (Juniors), Xavier 4 (Midgets 1), Ateneo 2 (Midgets 2), La Salle Zobel (Girls 2) and St. Paul’s Pasig (Girls 1) lead the cast of 20 schools in the 36-hole culmination of the school season vying for team and individual awards.

Clinching slots in the finals are Ateneo and La Salle Greenhills with five teams each, La Salle Zobel and Xavier with three apiece, Assumption with two teams and St. Paul’s Pasig and Colegio San Agustin with one each.

The International Container Terminal Services, Inc. is the main sponsor of JGFP tournaments with the support of Philippine Airlines, Chevrolet, Pancake House Group, Teriyaki Boy and Sizzlin’ Pepper.

Unlike in the eliminations where results were carried over from the first leg to the next, all teams will start from scratch in the finals. It shall be the same in the individual competitions, including the seniors division featuring 12 qualifiers led by Marvin Mendoza of La Salle Taft.

The top individual qualifiers are Marvi Monsalve of St. Paul’s in Girls 1, Pauline del Rosario of La Salle Zobel in Girls 2, JP de Claro of LSGH in Juniors, Kristoffer Arevalo of Colegio San Agustin in Midgets 1 and Aidric Chan of Ateneo 2 in Midgets 2.
