Subic Int'l Marathon promises cleanest, coolest race
MANILA, Philippines - The Subic International Marathon invites marathon buffs and serious runners to one of the cleanest, coolest, scenic environments for running – the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) course in Subic – on Jan. 21-22.
The organizing eXtribe, Inc. said the Subic course promises no less than cool and surrounded-by-fresh-air run, a definite break from the usual city run in Metro Manila.
eXtribe says runners can expect a safe and clean run with rest facilities in every turn-around point for the 5K, 10K, 21K and 42K race, committed hydrating station within every 1.5km, full medical support in case of emergency, RFID Accurate Timing System, and an uncrowded run with the staggered schedule of the races.
Races for the 3K and 5K are set on Jan. 21, while the 10K, 21K and 42K races are set on Jan. 22.
“With the experience we are creating for runners and h ow the 2012 SIM is organized, we hope that we are able to set that stage in making the Philippines recognized in the global running community. We hope that SIM will attract more international marathoners,” said Eric Imperio, CEO of eXtribe, Inc.
Additionally, the 2012 SIM supports the community transformation programs of Christian Officers Reform the Police Service (CORPS) Movement Foundation, Inc. and the DILAAB Movement.
Being part of the 2012 SIM is easy with affordable registration fees starting at P50 for the 3K, P150 for the 5K, P600 for the 10K, P700 for the 21K and P800 for the 42K.
Participants of the 10K, 21K and 42K races can vie for the cash prizes, amounting to over P100,000. 21K finishers get their SIM finisher dogtag, while 42K finishers get a finisher medal and dogtag.
Runners may register until Jan. 9. Registration sites are at New Balance Glorietta, New Balance Shangri-La, New Balance Trinoma and New Balance Marquee Mall Pampanga and The Outlet in Subic. On-line registration is at www.extribe.com.ph/registration/sim.
