MANILA, Philippines - University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and St. Joseph School-La Salle (SJS-LS) toppled their respective rivals to remain unbeaten after two games in the SEAOIL NBTC Elite League at the West Negros College gym in Bacolod City recently.
UNO-R trampled Bacolod Taytung High School (BTTHS), 61-47, while SJS-LS held off Mansilingan Christian Academy, 70-63, to show the way in the tournament backed by SEAOIL Philippines under the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
BTTHS dropped to 1-1 in a tie with Trinity Christian School while University of St. La Salle-Integrated School totes a 1-0 card. Bacolod Christian College of Negros and Tangub Christian Academy dropped their first two matches.
Steven Enema scored 16 points while Patrick Yulo and John Lorenz Toral added 13 and 10 markers, respectively, 10 for UNO-R, while Damner John Gabito came away with 27 points and Kevin Tonog had 11 markers for SJS-LS.
In other results, Trinity Christian School edged Tangub Christian Academy, 75-73, while BTTHS routed Bacolod Christian College of Negros, 92-58.
In Cebu City, University of Southern Philippines Foundation blasted Abellana High School, 78-55, for its second straight win. Abellana High slid to 1-2.
University of San Carlos-North also dominated Philippine Christian Gospel School, 68-39, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu whipped Don Bosco, 80-45, and University of Visayas trounced Abellana High School, 90-64.
Over in Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon Faith Christian School trounced Corpus Christi School, 67-56, and Shekinah Glory Christian Academy, 52-26, to lead the field.
In other games, Southern Philippines College beat Indahag National High School, 70-61, Xavier University romped of with a 102-43 win over Immanuel Mission International School, and CDO City National High School downed Pilgrim Christian College, 51-44.
