MANILA, Philippines - Chevron Philippines Inc (CPI), marketer of high-quality Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, donated P1 million to the Philippine Red Cross’ Million Volunteer Run (MVR) to raise volunteers from each barangay in the country and train them in disaster response.
With training cost of P1,000 per volunteer, CPI’s donation will be able to send a thousand PRC volunteers to disaster response training. Also, CPI employees joined the fun run to be able to sponsor more Red Cross volunteers.
“Volunteerism and diversity are part of the Chevron corporate culture. PRC’s MVR is a good way to run-for-a–cause while keeping healthy. This donation is also a continuation of Chevron’s long-time partnership with PRC. CPI has always been very proactive in offering assistance to PRC during calamities,” said Raissa Bautista, manager for Policy Gov’t and Public Affairs, CPI, who competed in the 5-km loop with her 11-year old son.
