DND Cup at Veterans tomorrow

MANILA, Philippines - Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin will lead patrons and guests when the DND Cup tees off tomorrow at the Veterans Golf Course in QC.

The 18-hole charity event hopes to raise funds for the improvement of Veterans facilities, including some typhoon-damaged walls and fences.

“It gives us great honor that the good Secretary himself will spend some of his precious time with us in this golf outing for a worthy cause,” said Gen. Patrick Madayag (Ret.), the Veterans general manager.

Madayag has already introduced innovative projects at the club, including an education program for caddies, umbrella and tee girls.

Madayag’s drive for employees’ welfare recently got a big boost when TV host Willie Revillame donated P100,000 for Philhealth registration of Veterans personnel.

“We hope to accomplish more for our humble club and its personnel,” said Madayag.
