Toleman to manage Pastor's racing career
MANILA, Philippines - Ted Toleman of the Toleman Motorsports Management (MMT) has decided to handle the career of Filipino ace driver Enzo Pastor in his debut in international motorsports racing area.
Toleman, known for his Formula One (F1) team and for recruiting the famous Ayrton Senna, recently signed a contract with Pastor which was witnessed by his father Tom Pastor, president of the Philippine Formula and Auto Sports Foundation, Inc. and Enzo’s sponsors Simeon Chan of the Bounty Farm Micronutrients Fertilizer (BFM) and the Coal Base Investments (CBI) and Ben Chan of Bench.
Chan had been a supporter of the Asian race champion since the start of his career in 2002.
Toleman’s vast experience in worldwide motorsport arena – from F1 racing to Dakar Rally – is instrumental in bringing Pastor to his successful and impressive driving tests in the Vodafone Triple 888-V8 Supercar Team in Goldcoast and Ipswich, Australia.
Toleman saw Pastor’s potential when he tamed the 650 horsepower beast with a 6-speed sequential gearbox on wet track condition. Halfway through the test, the Filipino driver impressed Toleman when he handled the beast well on slippery wet condition.
He was three seconds faster than a developmental V8 supercar race driver.
Pastor later matched the time lap of Jensen Button of F1, who tested earlier this year using the exact V8 Vodafone triple 888 racecar when the track had dried up.
“Enzo’s career will be in good hands with Ted Toleman. This is one of the best things that happened in my son’s career, aside from having been offered by Euro Nascar to race in Europe this 2012 race series right after his Avant-garde performance in Zandvoorth, Amsterdam-Euro NASCAR race series last June,” said Tom Pastor.
