TRS Cup: Cojuangco tries to keep solo lead

-

MANILA, Philippines - Eleven local and foreign drivers clash today in the second round of the TRS Cup powered by Ford Fiesta at the Clark International Speedway in Clark, Pampanga.

Former Rep. Charlie Cojuangco seeks a repeat of his victory in the pilot leg where he ruled the first two races aboard his GT40 Ford Fiesta and finished third in the final race.

But five others – Ross Jackes of Team Pacific Jet Corp., Guamanian Eric Choi of Team Smart Netphone, Bobby Horrigan of Team Castrol, Stefan Wolfe of Team Hafele and Basti Escalante of Team SmartBro – will be out to stop him.

Jackes foiled Cojuangco’s sweep bid by topping the third race in the event sponsored by Castrol and Bridgestone and backed by Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, Hafele, Ford Alabang, Smart Bro, and Smart Netphone, official time U-boat, official partners Oakley, Rota, Hastravel, Speedlab, Starbright Bodykits, Emotion and AAP.

Others in the fold are Mani Ramachandran, Ding Dizon and female drivers Daisy Jackes, Yvanna Carangan and Jovanne Lagman.

Horrigan had two runner-up finishes and a third place effort in the last leg while Choi placed second, fourth and fifth in the first three races.
