Altas out to sustain NCAA volley romp

-

MANILA, Philippines - University of Perpetual Help System Dalta tries to keep its run in all three divisions – men’s, women’s and juniors – as it takes on Emilio Aguinaldo today in the 87th NCAA volleyball competitions at the Letran Gym.

Focus will be on the Lady Altas, who will slug it out with co-leader Lady Generals in a duel of unbeaten teams (4-0).

“We need to keep on working hard and improve everyday,” said Perpetual coach Mike Rafael, whose wards beat the Jose Rizal side, 25-18, 25-12, 25-19, in Filipino.

Perpetual’s men’s team, the defending champion, has three wins in as many games and another win in its 10 a.m. encounter with EAC will keep it in step with Arellano U, which leads the field with a 4-0 card.

Arellano U and Perpetual are actually two of the other four unbeaten teams with the other two being St. Benilde (3-0) and San Beda (2-0).

Its high school squad totes a 1-0 for third place behind EAC (3-0) and San Sebastian (2-0).

Perpetual’s teams are eyeing to duplicate the effort of its beach volley teams that all made it to the finals.
