Corteza, Yang clash tonite

MANILA, Philippines - Lee Vann Corteza and Taiwanese Yang Ching Shun duel tonight in the fifth leg of the Philippine Bigtime Billiards Face-Off series at Pagcor Casino in Parañaque.

The race-to-9, 10-ball match is set at 9 p.m. and aired live over Solar Sports, Sky Channel 70 and Destiny Channel 34. It can also be viewed on live streaming at www.starbilliards.com.ph, www.megasportsworld.com and www.philippinebigtimebilliards.com.

The winner will receive $5,000.

“I hope to do well in this event again,” said Corteza, the two-time National Open champion who is coming off a victory in the Golden Break 9-Ball Invitational Championship in Malaysia. The former World 10-Ball finalist also won the San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest 9-ball Open last October.

Corteza is also seeking to come up with a follow-up to compatriot Francisco “Django” Bustamante’s win over Darry Peach of Britain last week.
