Castrol-TRS bets seal karting romp

MANILA, Philippines - The Castrol-TRS Kids capped the karting season with another dominating performance as they completed a 1-2-3-4 finish in the overall Cadet SQ class in the penultimate leg of the 2011 Asian Karting Open Championship series at the Clark International Speedway in Angeles City recently.

Heavy rains forced organizers to cancel Sunday’s races but it didn’t stop Castrol-TRS Kids William Casequin, Flynn Jackes, Dylan Arambulo and Raymond Cudala from ruling the event

Casequin, son of PTCC Production Car champion Stuart MacDonald, scored his first win in the Cadet SQ Expert Class with a seven-minute, 31.591-second clocking in the six-lap race.

He nipped Jackes by just 0.116 seconds.

Arambulo, on the other hand, captured the runner-up crown in the Cadet SQ Novice division while Cudala, bucked the odds to finish fifth overall in the Cadet SQ Expert class.

Cudala also emerged the overall series champion in the Cadet Expert class.

Casequin is second overall, while Arthur Tuason, who failed to see action in the Clark Asian Karting Open, wound up third overall while Jackes, who missed two legs of the national series, ended up fourth overall.

“These kids really worked hard throughout the season, and truly deserved what they achieved. Their feat further proved themselves as the future superstars of Philippine motorsports,” said TRS president JP Tuason of the foursome, whose campaign was supported by Castrol, Bridgeston, OMP, C!Magazine, Oakley, Discovery Suites, Belo Men, Toptul, Aguila Auto Glass and Speedlab.
