MANILA, Philippines - Miriam College made the biggest leap in the Milo-sponsored Women’s Basketball League (WBL) when it logged back-to-back wins to lead Group A of the 17-Under Competitive Division of the BEST Center-organized meet over the weekend.

Miriam scuttled Community of Learners, 78-24, then came back to beat De La Salle-Zobel, 37-33, for its third straight win for the lead. CoL dropped to 2-2, while DLSZ slipped to 3-1.

DLSZ later beat New Era High School (1-3), 64-24.

In the lone Group B game, Assumption College nipped St. Paul-Pasig, 54-50, to force a tie with its victim on top with three wins and a loss.

Miriam also had a field day in the Group A of the 17-U Developmental Division, blasting St. Scholastica’s-Westgrove (1-2), 64-22, for a 3-0 lead. School of St. Anthony also improved its mark to 2-1 with a 28-21 tripping of the hapless St. Scho girls.
