Asia's best wakeboarders strut stuff

MANILA, Philippines - Asia’s best cable wakeboarders and wakeskaters fight it out today in the final stop of the three-leg Stoked Inc-Rip Curl Asian Wake Park Tour (AWPT) at the Lago de Oro cable park Calatagan, Batangas.

Thai rip curl rider Daniel Grant, 13, is fancied to capture both the AWPT Pro wakeboard and wakeskate division titles in the event presented by Stoked Inc., the leading action sports retailer in the country and notable distributors of Rip Curl “The Ultimate Surfing and Wake Company.

Grant, coming off a US tour stint, will be taking on Asia’s elite, including compatriot Aye Tatsanai, Kim Yong Ill of Korea and Alex Bennet-Leat of Singapore, the only rider on tour to have beaten Daniel last year.

The Philippines will be bannered by national team members Mark Griffin, Carlo Dela Torre, Robert Caratti and top female bet Samantha Bermudez, who are coming off the Asian Australian Waterski and Wakeboarding Championships Malaysia last month.
