POW40 faces Biñan for last finals berth

MANILA, Philippines - POW40 and Biñan clash today for the second finals berth in the Burlington Life Begins@40 basketball tournament even as Gameville Los Pasigueños and POW50 seek a sweep of their respective divisions at Brgy. Bangkal gym in Makati.

POW40 defeated Cogeo Sat-Sun Basketball Club, 106-92, while Biñan downed Big J Sporting Goods, 98-73, last week to force a tie for second at 3-1 heading to the final day of the single round elims of the tournament sponsored by Burlington.

Gameville moved within a win of sweeping the Biofresh 40-and-above division with a 147-52 victory over Burlington. The Pasig-based squad guns for win No. 6 against Cogeo at 12 noon.

POW and Biñan dispute the other finals berth at 1:30 p.m.

POW50, on the other hand, clashes with Divina Law/Brgy Bangkal in a preview of the championship in the Shock XT 50-and-above category at 5 p.m.

POW50 dominated Paco Catholic School ’74, 106-44, to notch its fourth straight victory also last week while Divina Law/Brgy Bangkal disposed of SunMoon/Electrobyte, 107-59, to clinch the other final seat in the event backed by Business Mirror and Malaya Business Insight.
