MANILA, Philippines - The Ateneo Grade School golf team re-stamped its class in the second ICTSI Inter-School golf tournament, sweeping the top three places in the Midgets 2 division at Ayala Greenfields in Laguna recently.
Aidric Jose Chan, Carl Jano Corpus and Marc Elson Corrales combined to clinch the crown for Ateneo Grade School Team 1.
Chan went on to bag the individual title and took the nearest to the pin award while Corpus finished runner-up in the Midgets 2 class.
The Ateneo golf teams, last year’s back-to-back leg champions and finals winners, were composed of 12 strong jungolf contenders from Grades 2-5.
Ateneo Team 2, which finished runner-up, was made up for Raphael Samson, Gabriel Andres Magalong, Jefferson Conding, Riggs Illescas and Raymond Quinto while Maio Castaneda, Mathew Mateo, Vito Manalili, Francis Peping comprised the third placed Ateneo Team 3.
The recently concluded first two legs of the event were held at Splendido Golf Club and Capitol Hills, respectively.
This year’s ICTSI jungolf circuit has drawn 19 schools, including Ateneo Grade School, Ateneo High School, La Salle Greenhills, La Salle Zobel, La Salle Canlubang, La Salle Taft, Xavier School and Brent International School, among others.
