Bulldogs, Archers aim for sweet 16 in Champs League

MANILA, Philippines - National U and La Salle, two teams which missed the UAAP Final Four this season, seek redemption as they vie in the Metro Manila qualifier of the 2011 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) slated Nov. 8-10 at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Bulldogs and Archers will slug it out with other hopefuls Mapua, Lyceum, University of Manila, St. Francis Assisi, Centro Escolar University, and Technological Institute of the Philippines for the two slots from the Metro Manila region.

The UAAP and NCAA semifinalists – Ateneo, Far Eastern U, Adamson, University of Santo Tomas, San Beda, San Sebastian, Letran and Jose Rizal U – are already assured of Sweet 16 berths.

CESAFI squads University of Cebu, University of Visayas, Southwestern University, and University of San Carlos are vying for two slots from the Visayas region.

The remaining four seats in the Sweet 16 are up for grabs in the regional championships involving provincial champions to be held at the UNP gym in Vigan City, Naga Coliseum in Naga City, Almendras Gym in Davao City and Ormoc Astrodome in Ormoc City.
