MANILA, Philippines - After successful stops in Cebu, Davao and Dagupan, the Energizer Night Race, an advocacy run for hearing-impaired children, will be held at the Fort Bonifacio Global City on Nov. 5 to coincide with similar night races around the world.
During the race, thousands of light beams produced by the Energizer Headlight will create a night of visual splendor, adding a unique appeal to the event, the first of its kind to be held in Metro Manila.
The fun run, according to Energizer brand manager Joan Mendoza, will cap a four-leg extravaganza, with part of the proceeds to be donated to hearing-impaired children in Manila in cooperation with the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.
Hearing aids and Energizer Zero-Mercury hearing aid batteries will be presented to the beneficiaries during the event, part of Energizer’s global campaign to spread “positive energy.”
“Energizer Philippines Inc. recognizes and promotes hearing as vital for the normal learning process and full integration of hearing-impaired children into a productive society. We aim to empower these hearing-impaired children with the tools required to reach their full potential and to enjoy life to the fullest,” said Mendoza.
“After our nationwide tour, we are capping this year’s event in our country’s capital. The uniqueness of our night race has attracted people from all walks of life enjoying running at night powered by our Energizer Headlights,” said Mendoza, adding the first three legs in Cebu, Davao and Dagupan lured record fields.
The event will coincide with the launching of night races around the world, including the United States, Canada, South Africa, Argentina, Greece, and Singapore, among others.
“In Manila, most of the road races happen very early in the morning, whereas this race gives runners a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite sport at night in a safe way, thanks to the unstoppable power of Energizer batteries,” Mendoza added.
