Pacman buys $.24M Ferrari, wishes Donaire luck
MANILA, Philippines - The next time you see Manny Pacquiao rolling down the streets of Hollywood he’d be in his Ferrari.
According to reports, Pacquiao has just purchased a brand-new Ferrari, a shining black 458 Italia.
A couple of days ago, he was checking on a Mercedes Gullwing, which was being sold to him for $210,000.
However, it seemed that he chose the 4,499cc V8 Ferrari instead. The Ferrari model sells for as much as $240,000.
Ed dela Vega, an LA-based orthodontist, said the Ferrari is now sitting in the garage of La Palazzo, where Pacquiao stays while training.
Pacquiao used to move around the LA area in a gray Navigator, and then got a 2007 Mercedes convertible.
Maybe it’s about time for him to drive a Ferrari.
Pacquiao is in the crucial stages of his training for the Nov. 12 trilogy with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
Sparring intensifies at the Wild Card Gym and ABS-CBN reported yesterday that Pacquiao floored Scottish Jaime Kavanagh twice the other day.
Last week, he bloodied the nose of another sparring partner, African fighter Hastings Bwalya.
Pacquiao said training for the Marquez fight is doing great.
“I really like this fight that’s why I feel encouraged and determined to train hard,” said Pacquiao in the ABS-CBN report.
The hunger is there, the 32-year-old Filipino icon insisted.
“Parang ang gana ko sa training (My drive to train) is like when I started in boxing,” he said.
The reigning WBO welterweight champion also took time out to wish countryman Nonito Donaire well in his fight.
Donaire is set to face Argentina’s Omar Narvaez today at the Madison Square Garden in New York and defend his WBC and WBO bantamweight titles.
“Good luck bro,” Pacquiao said.
“ Bring home honor and glory to our country. Kaya mo yan (You can do it). Don’t forget to pray,” Pacquiao added.
