P5M Metro poker under way at Metrowalk

MANILA, Philippines - Top local and foreign players in the pro and amateur ranks mix it up in the Metro Card Club fourth anniversary P5-million guaranteed tournament, which got under way at the Metrowalk Complex in Ortigas, Pasig City yesterday.

Aside from this P10,000 buy-in main event, Metro has also put up a couple of side events, including the P40,000 guaranteed Pot Limit Omaha on Sunday and the Mixed No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha Tournament on Oct. 25. Both tournaments have a buy-in of only P1,000.

Also in store is the P30,000 buy-in Big Pot NLHE tournament on Monday, featuring the country’s top poker players.

The Metro, as it is more popularly known, is the biggest and the best poker room in the country with more than 30 tables catering all kinds of players, from low stakes to high stakes cash game ones to those who prefer tournaments.

Last year, in its third year anniversary tournament which guaranteed P3-million, 633 players attended the tournament to show their loyalty and appreciation for the biggest and the best poker room in the Philippines. Oliver Roxas won the Metro Card Club Anniversary Tournament 2010 and took home a whopping P750,000 plus an Asian PacificPoker Tour (APPT) Cebu package worth P150,000.
