Coaches laud PSC development league
MANILA, Philippines - Coaches of competing schools in the Philippine Sports Commission ( PSC ) Sandugo- Collegiate Development League expressed their appreciation and optimism of the league’s future, now on its second year as developmental league whose objective is to hone aspiring players from the school’s second teams for UAAP and NCAA squads, at the same time, giving the opportunity to players from secondary collegiate leagues to play against better teams.
Former professional players Joey Guanio, Andy De Guzman and Harmon Codiñera along with collegiate standouts Mike Saguiguit and Ron Ryan Cabagnot commended the one-of-a-kind league which they all distinctively described as a breeding ground and polishing phase for their incoming Team A players.
“Maganda ang ligang ito (CDL) for Team B players,” said Guanio, who handles the National University Bulldogs. “This is where their talent come into play. You also get the chance to observe every inch of improvement of your players. You can also see how your players think on court, their behavior and their decisiveness in the game,” Guanio said.
