Highlands Cup stakes US trip, Asian cruise for ace

MANILA, Philippines - A business elite class Transpacific round trip ticket to US, Canada or any Asian destination will be up for grabs as hole-in-one prize in the Highlands Ladies Cup which gets going Sunday at Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay.

The trip is staked at No. 12 while Royal Caribbean and Club Car are putting up a four-day Asian cruise for two and a golf cart for aces on Nos. 5 and 17, respectively. If nobody scores an ace, the Asian cruise prize on board Legend of the Seas will be raffled off among the participants.

The hole-in-one prizes are two of several prizes up for grabs in the 18-hole tournament backed by Diamond sponsors CATS Motors and Baron Travel and Platinum sponsors Philippine Airlines, San Miguel Corp., Pacific Online, Security Bank and W Towers, and featuring the leading golfing ladies from the country’s top clubs.

Two business class round trip tickets to India, courtesy of Philippine Airlines, a round trip ticket to Singapore from Air Philippines and a round trip ticket to any local destination, also courtesy of Air Philippines, and a two-night, three-day stay at Eskaya Resort and Spa in Panglao, Bohol will be raffled off during awards rites.

Felix Ang, president of CATS Motors, Willie Ocier, vice president of Belle Corp., Jorge Mendiola, SM Retail president, Marixi Prieto, Inquirer chair, and Sandy Romualdez, team captain of Tagaytay Highlands ladies team, will hit the ceremonial drives to kick off the sixth staging of the event also held to raise funds for the Sisters of Mary and Pearl Buck Foundation.
