MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas blasted University of the Philippines-Los Baños, 66-40, to claim its second straight victory and the Group B lead in the 25-years and under category (Collegiate) of the 24th Women’s Basketball League at the Xavier School gym last weekend.
UPLB took its second straight loss in the tournament sponsored by Milo and organized by the BEST Center.
In Collegiate-A, Philippine Women’s University (1-1, win-loss) defeated University of the Philippines-Diliman, 47-11 (0-2); while National University (1-1) clobbered University of Asia and the Pacific (1-1), 68-55.
In the lone 17-Under (High School) Competitive-A, Community of Learners (1-0) held off New Era High School (1-1), 34-30.
In High School Competitive-B, St. Paul’s College-Pasig (2-0) trounced La Salle-Antipolo (0-2), 57-32, while Angelicum (2-0) smothered San Beda-Alabang (0-2), 68-30, and Assumption (1-1) toppled La Salle-Antipolo (0-2), 70-63.
Colegio Sta. Rosa-Makati logged its second straight win with a 47-22 rout of School of St. Anthony (0-1), while St. Scholastica’s College-Westgrove (1-0) nipped PWU-JASMS (0-2), 28-24.
St. Pedro Poveda College (1-1) scorched Child Jesus of Prague School (0-2), 47-10, in the lone High School-B game.
St. Pedro Poveda also earned its second straight win in 13-Under, a 35-13 romp over Raises Academe (0-2).
