NCA unwraps stag derby series today

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance kicks off its stag derby circuit today with Gov. Ito Ynares, the Firefly Group, Claude Bautista and George Torres, and Bebot Roxas hosting the event at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Only stags inspected and banded by the following organizations will be allowed to participate in the derby: SGBA, PAGBA, GF BAND, NGBA, BAKBAKAN, RGBA, LGBA, MIGBA, BBC, and CVBA will be allowed to participate, according to the organizers.

The minimum weight for the stags is 1.7 kilos while the maximum weight is 2.15 kilos.

All the stags will be examined by Johnny Jalandoni of Negros and the representative of the hosts prior to the fight.

Meanwhile, the next NCA derby will be held Sept. 20 to be hosted by Rudy Albano and Jimmy Ang, Efren Canlas, Rudy and Jun Jingco, Jet Fernando, and Mario Villamor.
