Gerry's Grill triumphs

MANILA, Philippines - Gerry’s Grill proved steadier at crunchtime to subdue Manila-Hobe Bihon, 86-81, and forge a two-way tie for third place with 100plus Isotonic Drink in the 2011 MBL Corporate Cup basketball championship at the San Andres gym in Malate.

Former Far Eastern University standout John Gonzales and ex St. Clare College mainstay Christopher Manalili delivered the key baskets in the waning seconds to power the coach Wilson Sia-mentored Gerry’s Grill to its second win in three matches in this eight-team tournament supported by Ironcon Builders, Cebuana Lhuillier, PRC Couriers and WG Diners.
