TRS-Castrol kids bag four podium finishes

MANILA, Philippines - The TRS-Castrol Kids scored another scintillating performance behind Raymond Cudala, Arthur Tuason, Dylan Arambulo, Flynn Jackes and William Casequin recently in the fifth leg of the National Karting Series at the Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The heavy rain and the challenge of the fast, highly technical course squeezed the best out of the TRS-Castrol Kids who delivered one champion trophy, two third places, one fourth place and a fifth place with the support of Castrol, Bridgestone, OMP, C!Magazine, Oakley, Discovery Suites, Belo Men, Toptul, Aguila Auto Glass and Speedlab.

Cudala, a 12-year-old Grade 6 student of Elizabeth Seton School, clinched the lone champion trophy as he copped his fifth consecutive victory that firmed up his title bid in the Cadet SQ Expert class where the TRS-Castrol Kids won four of the five podium finishes.

Cudala swept all three races. He was unstoppable in the final heat where he surged ahead of the pack at the start and wrapped the 16-lap race in 10 minutes, 1.083 seconds or nearly eight seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Tuason, who’s tagged to carry on the championship tradition of his multi-titled racing champ father JP and racing legend grandfather Arthur Tuason, staged a big comeback in the final race to claim third place in the Cadet SQ Expert class.

Jackes and Casequin wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.

Dylan Arambulo made a big surprise as he also bagged third place in the Cadet SQ Novice division.

Basti Escalante likewise bagged the runner-up finish in the Formula SL Novice division with the big support of Tuason Racing School, Castrol, OMP, C! Magazine, Oakley, Discovery Suites, Belo Men, Toptul, Aguila Auto Glass, Speedlab, and his individual sponsors Audi, Transnational Diversified Group, Werdenberg International Corp., Bridgestone, Puma, Coke Zero, Bank of Commerce, Emcor, KServico, Washington Watches and The Philippine STAR.

“It’s their first time to test challenge of the Enchanted Kingdom course but they’ve shown great skills. I was more surprised with their flexibility since they easily adapted to the track condition. Now, that’s a big improvement on their part,” said TRS president JP Tuason.
