Big harvest for One Racing in Asian karting

-

MANILA, Philippines - The revitalized One Racing Team put up a gallant fight behind Daniel Castañeda and Jon Julian recently in the second leg of the 2011 Asian Karting Open Championship at the Carmona Racetrack.

Castañeda and Julian powered a harvest of two champion trophies, two runners-up, two third places and two fourth place finishes for One Racing (formerly Ready2Race) powered by MyPhone, Tony Kart, AIM Racing Gauges, Sparco, ORG Racing Gear, HJC Helmets and the Active Group.

Castañeda and Julian steered a strong 1-2 finish in the SQ Novice class where they even upstaged other Expert karters in the combined race. Teammate Fernan Gapuz claimed fourth place.

Julian likewise followed it up with another 1-2 feat in the SQ Veterans class together with John Effinger.

Jose Luigi Lachica showed big promise as he copped third place in the SQ Cadet Novice class ahead of all other Expert rivals on his very first competitive race.

Effinger also put up a strong show finishing third in the SQ Expert class while Wayne Darvin bagged fourth place in the Formula SL Novice division.

“We’re very happy with the strong show of our wards, as we look forward to even better performances in the coming races,” said One Racing coach, Pepon Marave.

Marave particularly commended Castañeda and Lachica who unleashed a brave fight against more experienced rivals in the combined SQ Race.

Castañeda finished second overall, clocking nine minutes and 59.446 seconds or just 3.346 seconds behind Peterson Lim, an expert.

Lachica came out a big surprise on his debut stint with the third fastest laptime of 58.317 seconds as he wrapped up the 10-lap race in nine minutes and 24.520 seconds.
