SAN DIEGO, California – Dottie Ardina capped her campaign in the Callaway Junior World golf championships with a final-round one-under-par 73 for an 11th place finish in the girls 15-17 years division at the Torrey Pines North course on Friday (Saturday in Manila).
Ardina rallied with a two-under stint on her last seven holes for her second straight under-par round but it came a little too late for what could have been another Top 10 finish in the premier division.
She finished at 295, 11 shots off Korean winner Kim Hyoo-joo who ran away with the crown with a 15-under aggregate of 281 following a second straight six-under-par 68.
In an 11-year stint in the Junior World, Ardina had won three titles and missed the Top 10 just twice. She is one of the 12 qualifying winners provided with tickets by Philippine Airlines for the Junior World.
Andie Unson finished in 16th place at 297 following a 73 while Irina Gabasa soared to a 79 and wound up in 32nd spot at 303.
None of the boys bets sent here by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines made it to the final round play.
