MisOr Meteors ram MP Warriors

CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines  – The host Misamis Oriental Meteors scored a convincing 95-70 manhandling of the MP Warriors of GenSan Wednesday night to kick off the Misamis Oriental Leg of the SMC Liga Pilipinas Conference V at the Xavier U gym.

Parading five newly acquired players, the Meteors of Gov. Oscar Moreno raced to an 8-0 lead and never looked back. Burly Ken Bono dominated his smaller opponents to push the Meteors further ahead by the end of the first period, 26-14.

Although the MP Warriors managed to threaten in the third canto, 48-59, new recruits JR Gerilla scored six unanswered points and Ardy Larong added another basket to quell the uprising, 67-48. Lyndon Gudez then found his range and sank a triple to erect the Meteors’ biggest lead with four minutes to play.
