Red Warriors third in AUBC

MANILA, Philippines - The UE Red Warriors routed Malaysia, 85-67, to grab third place in the eighth Asian University Basketball Championship held at the Binutlu Municipal Stadium in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Paul Zamar topscored with 20 points, including a pair of three-point shots that put the Warriors ahead for good.

Adrian Santos backed up Zamar with 18, Benjamin Zosa had 11, and John Michael Noble 10.

UE’s trip was made possible by the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) and the Federation of School Sports Association (FESSAP), the local university sports body recognized by the Federation of International University Sports (FISU), organizer of the Summer Universiade and World University Championship.

Guangdong University of China scored a masterful 95-66 victory over National Taiwan University of Arts to claim the championship.
