Floirendo eyes second sweep in GT series at BRC

-

MANILA, Philippines -  Circuit Racing takes an exciting turn as the 2011 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship Series returns to Batangas for the third leg at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Davao native Vincent Floirendo is seeking his third consecutive victory against equally tough rivals in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by official tires Yokohama Philippines, Enersel Forte, official pace car Honda Cars-Kalookan, Rota Wheels, and Racing [email protected].

Excellent car setup and experience pivoted Floirendo to a sweep of both the Sprint and GT main race that bolstered his hold of solo leadership for the Driver of the Year award and the GT300 class with 100 points.

But defending champion William Tan is raring to get himself back on track for a back-to-back crown. He’s not so far away at second, garnering a total of 92.

And with just 10 points separating the top two drivers, expect a tight showdown for the win that would have a big effect on their title quests.

Joining them in the hunt for the GT300 crown are Ford-TRS driver Veli-Matti Kaikkonen and Ramil Madriaga.

Newcomer Dwight Kevin Carlos also guns for his second straight triumph in the GT200 class over regular competitors Leo San Juan and Arnel Carlos

Ford Focus-TRS Racing bet Alvin Ng also seeks a repeat of his feat in the GT130 division over Sean Redpath, Dean Joson and Efren Lavina while Marc Peter Thomann aims to rule the GT100 class anew.
