SBP/Passerelle organizational gab slated

MANILA, Philippines - BEST Center, the country’s pioneer basketball school, will hold an organizational meeting for this summer’s National Capital Region SBP/Passerelle competition at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Quezon City Sports Club along E. Rodriguez Avenue.

Coaches or representatives of last year’s participating teams and other interested schools are invited to attend the event which will review SBP/Passerelle rules which are often violated or misunderstood and discuss the implementation of new FIBA rules.

Tournament commissioner Rolando Omampo and his assistant, Monica Patricia Jorge, will preside over the meeting.

Defending NCR national champion Ateneo de Manila (SBP) and reigning NCR titlist Xavier School (Passerelle) lead the list of invitees.

Ateneo whipped Don Bosco Pampanga (Luzon). Ateneo de Iloilo (Visayas) and Ateneo de Davao (Mindanao) in the national finals, while Visayas winner Sacred Heart Jesus-Ateneo de Cebu toppled Xavier, International School for Better Beginnings, Lucena (Luzon) and Claret School of Zamboanga (Mindanao) in the national tournament.
