Ikeda ends up 34th with second 75

-

MANILA, Philippines - Chihiro Ikeda failed to recover her rhythm and wound up with a second straight 75, winding up joint 34th in the Suntory Open won by Ahn Sun-ju and Chi Arimura at the Rokko Kukusai Golf Club in Kobe, Japan last Sunday.

Ikeda had another four-bogey, one-birdie stint in another cool day at the soggy par-72 layout, settling for a share of amateur honors with Mori Miho, who had a 71, at even par 288.

But the ICTSI-backed bet finished way below expectations, blowing away a solid 70-68 output in the first two rounds with a pair of three-over cards.

Ahn closed out with a 70 and nipped Ri Satoshi and Tie Arimura by one with a 14-under 274.

Satoshi rallied with three straight birdies from No. 14 but settled for pars in the last two holes for a 70 while Arimura holed out with a bogey for a 71 and a 275.
