NLEX, Cebuana brace for D-League title duel

MANILA, Philippines -  NLEX and Cebuana Lhuillier try to forge a championship duel as they take on Max! Bond Super Glue and PC Gilmore, respectively, in the Final Four of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City today.

The Road Warriors routed FCA team, 100-71, to reach the semis while the Sumos struggled past the stubborn Blackwater Elite, 74-71, to advance.

According to NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez, Max! Bond Super Glue remains a dangerous rival with veteran crew of Junjun Cabatu, Reil Cervantes, Lei Mar Navarro, Rudy Lingganay and Roel Hugnatan.

“We can match up well with their big men. But I don’t think we have the answer for their experience,” Fernandez said.

The Road Warriors, however, hope to use their quickness and aggressiveness to gain a crack at the crown.

“Our guys are young. Hopefully we could match their intensity and take advantage of our quickness,” said Fernandez.

Gametime is at 4 p.m.

The Cebuana Lhuillier and PC Gilmore, on the other hand, dispute the first finals berth at 2 p.m. with the Gems hoping to sustain their impressive run from the classification round to the knockout playoffs.
