Lady Archers dominate Bulldogs

MANILA, Philippines - La Salle used its height and heft advantage to beat National University-A, 57-42, and advance to the semfinal round of the 2011 Pacific Online Cup at the Xavier School Jacinto Tiu Competition Courts last Monday.

With Chelisa Calaquian, Aracaeli Abaca and Inna Corcuera at the helm, the Lady Archers outrebounded the Lady Bulldogs, 42-24. They combined for 26 points and 21 boards in the tournament sponsored by Pacific Online Lotto and Gerry’s Grill and organized by Mighty Sports Association.

Hannah Viterbo topscored for the Taft-based squad with 14 points, including four triples while Maria Teresa Pama paced the Ever Bilena and SM-backed NU squad with 22 points, highlighted by seven triples.

La Salle takes on sister team College of St. Benilde in the semis with the winner earning the right to face UAAP champion and top seed Far Eastern U in the finals of the event managed by Professional Officiating and Management of Sports Activities (POMSA).

The Lady Tamaraws secured a twice-to-beat advantage via a six-game sweep of the elims.
