Elastikote tops AGC anniversary golf

MANILA, Philippines - Elastikote pooled 354 points to beat Knoxout by eight points and pocket the team championship in the Architects Golf Club anniversary tournament at the Baguio Country Club recently.

Joy Arcenas and Ruel de Castro fired 42 and 40 points, respectively, while Richard Tan had 37 and Larry Salangsang made a 36 to lead Elastikote’s title romp in the tournament. Other scorers for the team, skippered by Jerry See with Adones Baluyut as co-captain, were Wilson Sioco (35), Willy Cruz (35), Boy Roldan (34), Romy de Jesus (32), Andrei Amadeo (32) and Stephen Sy (31).

Knoxout assembled a 346 then nipped Wallguard in the countback to claim runner-up honors in the tournament sponsored by Boysen Paints and backed by Emerald, JME Supreme International, Koten, Megacem, Inc. – Holcim, Philips Wire & Cable, Inc., Republic Powdercoat, Samitrade Inc. (Marble & Granite), Toto Asia Oceania Pte., Ltd., Toyo Aluminum Composite Panel, Wilcon Builders, World Home Depot and August Quality Flooring Specialist.

Jimmy Ebreo shot a 39, Eric Cuisia turned in a 38 and Mikee da Jose added 37 for Knoxout, which also drew 35 points each from Bobby Cheng and Malou Doles, a 34 from Roy Cordero, a pair of 33s from Roy Vergara and Mario Nabor and two 31s from Elmer Cabrera and Louie Montes.

Wallguard got 41 points from Evelyn Alcantara, two 37s from Sanny Santiago and Nestor Reyes, a pair of 36s from Mohammadsarfraz Uttoh and Daniel Go and two 34s from Joven Guevarra and Rosendo Tan. Mon Ajero made a 33 while Winston Lao and Wilson Lim added 29 points each.

Virtuoso placed fourth with 342 as Efren Gonzales fired 39 points, Larry Chua had 38, Buddy Sequi and Juanito Chua added 35 points apiece, Benny Velasco had 34, John de Luna and Mike Tomeldan each shot 33 points, Odet Bongato and Neil Magkilat had identical 32s and Randy Banzon chipped in 31 points.

Cuisia and Doles, meanwhile, combined for 104 points to capture the two-man best score crown, edging Sioco and Bongato, who pooled a 105. Daniel Go and John de Luna finished third with 106 followed by Magkilat and Ajero, who had 107.
