CSM five outlasts STI for Sandugo title

MANILA, Philippines - Last year’s NCRAA champions Colegio de Sta. Monica (CSM) added another title to its collection by beating the Systems Technology Inc. (STI) Olympians, 59-55, in exciting championship game at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum last Saturday for the Sandugo-Collegiate Development League (CDL) basketball crown.

Ahead by 10 at the half , 47-37, the Cougars looked headed for an easy win and with just over a a minute left in the game, JD Flores drained a three pointer from quarter court for a 58-51 lead for CSM, but the never-say-die Olympians closed in at 55-58 with 41 seconds left with both teams exchanging misses and miscues until the last 1.5 second when CSM’s Mark Guillen made one out of two foul shots to seal the game for CSM.
