Pasay routs Munti, ties Batang PBA pacesetters
MANILA, Philippines - Gio Ramos and Kenneth de Vega scored 20 points each as Pasay kept its unbeaten run with a 90-73 rout of defending champion Muntinlupa in the Inter-City phase of the second Coca-Cola Hoopla National Capital Region Championship at the Muntinlupa sports Complex last Monday.
With its fourth straight win, Pasay, coached by Cholo Martin, pulled abreast with erstwhile co-leaders Mandaluyong, Quezon City and Antipolo.
Mandaluyong, meanwhile, seeks solo leadership when it takes on hapless Manila at 6 tonight at the Mandaluyong gym.
In other games. Makati drubbed Manila, 99-58, as Ralph Cedric Omampo scored 27 points and Toshira Natividad added 18, while Taguig crushed Parañaque, 87-66.
Mandaluyong remains on top of the Central zone with a 4-0 slate followed by San Juan (3-1), Makati (2-3), and Manila (0-5).
East has Quezon City, supported by Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, ahead 4-0 followed by Pasig (3-1), Marikina (1-3) and Pateros (0-4).
Up North, Valenzuela, backed by Councilor Gerry Esplana, leads with a 3-1 card followed by Navotas (2-2), Caloocan (2-2), and Malabon (1-3).
South has Pasay ahead 4-0 followed by Taguig (3-1), Muntinlupa (2-2), Las Piñas (1-3), and Parañaque (0-4).
Antipolo banners West with a 4-0 slate followed by Taytay 2-2,
Binangonan (1-3), and Cainta (1-3).
