Huge field seen in Phl youth arnis

-

MANILA, Philippines - Close to 300 bets from all over the country are expected to compete in the Enersel Forte National Youth Arnis Festival slated this weekend at the SM Megamall Activity Center.

The two-day event, backed by the Cebu City Sports Commission, Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation and the Davao City Sports Committee, ushers in the World Arnis Open (WAO) in October.

“We are continuing the vision of our late grandmaster Roland Dantes in bringing arnis to everyone, especially the youth,” said tournament director Rey Dominguez.

A one-day event last year drew an overflow list-up of over 130 participants with only one competition mat. This year’s expanded event will feature two playing areas over two days.
