Pangasinenses hail Pacman win

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – Pangasinenses joined the nation in jubilation as Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao successfully defended his WBO welterweight title against American Sugar Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada via unanimous decision.

Hundreds of Lingayen residents gathered in front of the municipal hall to get a clearer view of the fight through a large screen.

Men, especially tricycle drivers, took time out as they watched the bout.

Loud cheers for Pacquiao erupted in the third round as the Filipino people’s champion downed Mosley.

“He’s really a champion,” said a man after Pacquiao was announced winner in the 12-round bout.

But most of the people just stayed at home as they glued their eyes on their television sets to watch the bout.
