TUA trip AdU, TIP to enhance semis bid

MANILA, Philippines - Trinity University of Asia scored back-to-back wins over Adamson, 78-74, and Technological Institute of the Philippines, 76-58, to remain in the semifinal race in the Philippine Sports Commission-Sandugo Collegiate Development League (CDL) basketball tournament recently.

The TUA cagers trailed the Falcons going into the last four minutes of the contest but turned back their rivals with a stingy defense and a fluid offensive game to pull off the victory.

TUA then dominated TIP to finish its elims campaign with a 3-3 record in a tie with Adamson.

Far Eastern U, meanwhile, picked up its third win against two losses with an 83-55 rout of TIP. The Tams go for an outright semis berth against last year’s NCRAA champion Colegio de Sta Monica.

CSM is also gunning for a seat in the Final Four with a 3-1 card.

Systems Technology Inc., which leads the league with a 4-1 card, tangles with College of St. Benilde in the other game at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
