Lining, Django WPA top players
MANILA, Philippines - Antonio Lining and Francisco “Django” Bustamante took the top two spots in the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) ranking list, underscoring the Filipinos domination of the sport on the world stage.
Lining pooled 1725 points, including 640 in the 2010 WPA World 9-Ball Open, 300 points in the 2010 China Open and 270 in the World 8-Ball Championship early this year. He also racked up 325 points in the recent Philippine Open and made 190 points in the just concluded Beijing Open to take the No. 1 spot.
Bustamante, on the other hand, moved to No. 2 with 1432 points, highlighted by his victory in the 2010 World 9-Ball worth 1,000 points.
Chang Jun-lin of Chinese-Taipei is in third with 1417 followed by another Filipino, Dennis Orcollo (1410), Kuo Po-cheng of Chinese-Taipei (1292), Ronnie Alcano (1158), Thorsten Hohmann of Germany (1085), Nick Van Den Berg of the Netherlands (1050), David Alcaide of Spain (1048) and Darren Appleton of Great Britain (982).
