Bosch Cordless race championship slated

MANILA, Philippines - Eight colleges and universities will take part in the Philippine leg of the Bosch Cordless Race Championships, slated at the Boomland Kart Track inside the CCP Complex in Pasay May 15.

Race karts powered by Bosch cordless lithium-Ion power tools and designed by engineering students from Colegio de San Juan De Letran-Calamba, Don Bosco Technical College-Mandaluyong, Mapua Institute of Technology, Rizal Technological University, Technological Institute of the Philippines, University of the Philippines-Diliman, University of San Carlos-Cebu and University of Mindanao-Davao will take center stage in the one-day time trial.

The winning team will bring home P100,000 and represent the country in the Final Race slated in Beijing in September.

“Innovation and skills transfer is an important part of the Bosch philosophy. The (cordless race) championships will provide engineering students a challenge in creating race karts powered by Bosch tools,” said William Go, Bosch country sales director for power tool.

Aside from the time trial, the whole day event will feature presentations on Bosch cordless power tools and performances from the Velasco Brothers dance group and basketball player-rapper Alex Crisano.

A cheerleading competition will also be helD featuring pep squads from the eight participating colleges and universities.

An awarding ceremony and a concert will take place in the evening featuring performances from Amber, General Luna, Razorback and Parokya ni Edgar.
