AFP tops Capati golf tournament

MANILA, Philippines - Armed Forces of the Phils. Golf Club, formerly Aguinaldo GC, assembled 67 points to top the Dominga Capati golf tournament at the north course of the Canlubang golf complex in Laguna recently.

Composed of Matet Salivio, Leni Cabili, Lally Trinidad, Nitz Salivio, Banie Lagura, Arianne Salvador and skipper Belen Ampong, the AFP GC golfers dominated the event played under the six-man Modified Team scramble format to capture the low gross championship.

Manila Golf Club, headed by team captain Letty Laurel, pooled 68 points for a net 71 to clinch overall net crown in the 44th staging of the tournament held in honor of the former many-time national ladies open champion.

Other members of MGC were Narumi Hisatomi, Loli Sy, Chie Crowdy, Letty Laurel, Marit Yuchengco and Malu Gamboa.

Tagaytay Midlands Team I, headed by skipper Dionne Cu, settled for runner-up honors, assembling a 76 for a net 65. The team members were Rosalind Wee, Mayenne Varua, Connie Mamaril, Josefina Bautisa and Deena Mendiola.
