UNO-R prevails in Seaoil tiff

MANILA, Philippines - University of Negros Occidental Recoletos (UNO-R) leaned on Renz Joshua Saronna, Jun King Arriola and Ramon De la Torre as it trounced Christian Academy of Bacolod, 61-52, in the Seaoil Elite League at the WNU gym in Bacolod City recently.

Saronna, Arriola and De la Torre combined for 23 points as UNO-R roared to its third straight for the lead in the tournament sponsored by Seaoil Philippines and backed by B-Meg, Magnolia Inc., Magnolia Ice Cream, Purefoods Hormel, San Miguel Foods Inc (Monterey), San Mig Coffee and Molten.

Meanwhile, University of St. La Salle Integrated School blasted Trinity Christian School (2-2), 80-48, to post its third win in four games in the event held under the auspices of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

Zossimo Maravilla fired 15 points, Jay Arjay Jamero and Giovanni Laguyo each had 11 points while Raymund Cuadra added 10 points for the USLS-IS squad.

Bacolod Tay Tung High School, with Gerard Dipol scoring 16 points, demolished Mansilingan Christian Academy, 78-57, to improve to 3-2.

Meanwhile, fans get to choose the members of Bacolod’s NBTC All Star team as Seaoil launches the “Seaoil NBTC All-Star Selection: Vote For Your Basketball Superstar.”

Every P200 gas purchase at participating Seaoil stations entitles customers to one ballot, in which he or she may select a maximum of five players.
