Baseball Phl Series 8 goes out of town

-

MANILA, Philippines - Four out-of-town games highlight Series 8 of Baseball Philippines which formally kicks off on April 16 at the Rizal Memorial baseball stadium.

A total of seven matches in Subic, Lipa, Libjo in Batangas and Banlic in Cabuyao, Laguna will be staged this season, marking the first time that road games will be held in the four-year history of the league organized by Community Sports Inc.

Two-time reigning champion Manila Sharks open their quest for a third consecutive crown as they face the Taguig Patriots in the opening game this Saturday at 1 p.m. shortly after the opening ceremonies set at 11 .a.m.

The Sharks, naturally, are the odds-on pick by the entire field to win another championship when they appeared in the weekly PSA Forum Tuesday at Shakey’s UN Ave.

“Anyone has the capacity to win, pero Manila pa rin ang malakas” said Cebu Dolphin coach Jon De Ubago.

Other Baseball Philippines stalwart who graced the weekly session presented by Smart, Pagcor and Shakey’s were Matt and Carly Laurel of the Alabang Tigers, Carlo Banzon and Nico Dizer of Batangas Bulls, Gil Encarnado of Taguig Patriots and Manila Sharks’ Jonjon Robles and Eric Cadavillo.
